Unit-Economics Financial Model (Sol Roots)

Open: 01_live-dashboards/sol-roots-financial-model.html (self-contained)

Problem. A food venture needed to model COGS, margins, labor, kitchen cost, and cash flow across SKUs — and stress-test it.

What I built. A from-scratch reactive engine in vanilla JS: 5 SKUs with a live COGS builder (ingredient cost × quantity), margin/labor/cash projections, red-team worst-case scenarios, and a global-inputs settings tab. Nothing hardcoded — every output is a live formula. Mobile-first, 44px touch targets per Apple HIG.

Why it matters. Complex interconnected state without a framework, plus genuine business/unit-economics fluency — useful when an applied engineer has to reason about customer ROI on the spot.

This is a full unit-economics engine I wrote from scratch in vanilla JavaScript, COGS, margins, labor, cash flow across five SKUs, with red-team worst-case sliders. Nothing is hardcoded, every number is a live formula, and it's touch-optimized to Apple's guidelines so it works on a phone. Two things it shows: I can manage complex interconnected state without reaching for a framework, and I can actually reason about a business, which matters when an applied engineer has to talk customer ROI on the spot.
